Based on the true story of Mauricio Rosencof, 'A Father's Gift' is about 7 year-old Alejandra, who visits her father in prison.

Mauricio Rosencof was imprisoned from 1973 to 1985 for his activism in the National Liberation Movement – the Tupamaros. He lived in solitary confinement for over 11 years, until he was freed in 1985 and re-united with his daughter.
